Lateness seems to be the theme for me so far in 2013. This is supposed to be my big New Year’s post, all about new beginnings and wiping the slate clean and all of that. And here it is already 20 days into the year. Huh. Good thing I strongly believe it’s never too late. For anything.
This year, I joined a group of women photographers in doing a Project 52. Each week of the year has a different theme. We chose one image from the week to share with everyone. So far this has been a great experience for me. I am fueled by these fellow women’s creativity. It makes me want to push my own boundaries, which is amazing.
Here are the first three images (since, once again I am a little behind).
This is my sister and her soon-to-be-husband! They got engaged over Christmas and asked me to take their official engagement photo, which was so fun! They both love to play scrabble so I thought we should incorporate that into it as well. I am so excited for their June wedding!
This is a macro (extreme close up) shot of ice on our screen door. Nature is especially beautiful when you can get close enough to really see all the details. I can always see God’s touch when I take photos of nature like this.
This week’s theme was shallow DOF (depth of field). Which refers to when a very specific part of an image is in focus and the rest is out of focus. I love shallow depth of field. This is when I feel like I can be the most creative and really tell a story with my images.
I will be posting my Project 52 images here every week and if you don’t see a new one, well then you will know that I am really living up to my theme. That’s the silver lining part, right?
Here’s to 2013!
